Introduction

Roundlet ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you use our mobile application ("App").

The short version: We don't collect, store, or share your personal data. Your patterns are stored locally on your device, with optional iCloud sync to keep them in sync across your Apple devices. When you use iCloud sync, your data is stored in your personal iCloud account—not on our servers.

Information We Collect

We don't collect any personal information. Roundlet is an offline-first app that stores all your data locally on your device.

Data Stored on Your Device and iCloud

The following data is stored locally on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, this data is also stored in your personal iCloud account. In either case, this data is not accessible to us:

  • Crochet patterns you create
  • App preferences and settings
  • Any notes or images you add to patterns

iCloud sync is optional and can be enabled or disabled in the app settings. Your iCloud data is protected by Apple's encryption and security measures.

Data We Do Not Collect

  • Personal information (name, email, etc.)
  • Usage analytics or tracking data
  • Location data
  • Device identifiers

In-App Purchases

Roundlet offers premium features through in-app purchases. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect, process, or store any payment information. iCloud Sync

Roundlet offers optional iCloud sync to keep your patterns synchronized across all your Apple devices. When enabled:

  • Your patterns are stored in your personal iCloud account using Apple's CloudKit
  • Data is encrypted in transit and at rest using Apple's security infrastructure
  • We do not have access to your iCloud data
  • Sync can be disabled at any time in the app settings

Backup & Sharing Features

Roundlet includes features for backing up and sharing your patterns:

  • Data Backup: Export your patterns as .crochet files that can be saved locally, to iCloud Drive, or other storage of your choice.
  • Pattern Sharing: Share individual patterns with other users via .crochet files. Recipients can import these into their own app.
  • PDF Export: Generate PDF versions of your patterns in mobile or print sizes. These files are created locally on your device.

All export and sharing features are initiated by you. We do not automatically upload or share your patterns.

Future Features

We may introduce additional features in the future. If any new features involve data collection, they will be opt-in, and we will update this Privacy Policy and be transparent about what data is collected and how it is used.

Third-Party Services

Roundlet integrates with the following Apple services:

  • App Store: For app distribution and in-app purchases
  • iCloud/CloudKit: For optional pattern syncing across devices

We do not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

Children's Privacy

Roundlet is a general audience app suitable for all ages. Since we do not collect any personal information, there are no special considerations for children's data under COPPA or similar regulations.

Data Security

Your local data is protected by your device's built-in security features (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID, encryption). If you use iCloud sync, your data is additionally protected by Apple's iCloud security measures, including encryption in transit and at rest.

We recommend keeping your device software up to date and using a secure passcode.

Your Rights

Since we don't collect your data, there is nothing to access, correct, or delete on our end. You have full control over your data:

  • Local data: Delete the app to remove all locally stored data
  • iCloud data: Disable iCloud sync in the app settings, or manage your iCloud storage through your device's Settings app

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
